Ask A Ninja

You can ask a ninja anything. Even about podcasts.
The YouTube video below is a priceless answer to the question “What is Podcasting?”. Entertainment value aside, it inspired me to think of a satirical list of what not to do when creating a podcast.
10 Things What NOT To Do When Creating A Podcast:
- People are subscribing to listen to you. But they aren’t going to listen you if you’re talking at 100 mph.
- But then again, they aren’t going to listen to you if you’re talking slower than your grandmother after her daily gin and tonic.
- You are dumber than you think, unless you’re Barack Obama giving a speech from his teleprompter. Never wing your podcast.
- You’re not creating a scary movie, so white noise isn’t considered special sound effects.
- It’s not all about you. Give something interesting (like conversations) for your audience to listen to.
- Unless you’re banking on a makeout session with your microphone, you shouldn’t be sitting so close to it.
- If you’re one of the people expecting big movement and change in this country overnight, you probably shouldn’t expect much from yourself either when creating a podcast.
- Remember, podcast listeners can’t physically see you so think of other ways to attract them.
- A 6-pack of RedBull will not save you from podcast failure.
- The ninja didn’t become famous on his own. Don’t underestimate the power of sharing content.
If you don’t like my advice, you can ask a ninja.
