Introducing the first episode of Social Potato Chips Podcast!
The main goal of this podcast series is to take a stab at general social media concepts in three simple episodes, which will be released monthly as a “snack” version of SPC. Each podcast will provide a brief overview about social media that subscribers can audibly consume in less than 5 minutes. It is catered to the evangelistic audience, or people who are curious about this booming industry and other digital marketing topics.
Show Notes + Useful Links
The author of Social Potato Chips (me) kicks off a trio of podcast episodes to talk about the elements of social media. In the first episode, she focuses the most regular element of social media: Content Creation. This snack version of SPC is an episode you can listen on-the-go to learn more about the important of content creation, specifically around quality and promotion.

Hi, Annie. Very customized appearance of your blog~
Creative idea and title! Like we mentioned in the class, defining your specific group of audiences is very important and a good start to your podcasts show.~
Look forward to seeing your social media podcasts show.
Great concept and much needed podcast. Here are a few questions and suggestions:
1. How would you categorize this podcast?
2. Stick to the “snack” version of learning about social media and its applications.
3. I think the three different types of potato chips is very good branding. Now make each potato chip have its own format or niche. Baked potato chips should be more hands on and direct communication to people who are content creators and need a quick technique on how to drive more traffic.
4. Follow Valerie Stevens on Twitter( She gives a lot of links toward building a strong web presence)
5. Make sure you think about your tags and titles for each episode.
6. Will there be an opportunity for a sponsor?
Hi Annie,
I think this topic is great and informative to your target audiences. Also, the 3 parts format provides a succinct and thorough format. What frequency are you considering to release this? Since ( I assume) it’s a tip oriented podcast, will you release it more often to help your TA keep up with this?

Hi Annie,
I love the potato chips theme for your podcasts: you have a clear brand identity. The potato metaphor also leaves room for additional topics or guest topics, like “this week: jalapeno potato chips- guerrilla marketing tactics!” I also like that you have already added a podcast section to your blog for easy access. What sources will you use to gather your information?

Good idea, Annie!
When you say “short series,” does that mean you will only do a specific number of episodes or will it be ongoing?
I really enjoy your blog and I think a snack size podcast would be a great addition.
Annie – I think you have to shoot for at least monthly to be relevant — especially since these are short (5 min). I don’t understand the three categories — are these three different “types” of show or are all three content types going to be part of a 5-minute podcast? If the later, I don’t think that is feasible.
Still need a short summary/description that tells people what the podcast is about.

That is a great idea! Especially with social media changing so fast, today Facebook is big, tomorrow Twitter, next week who knows right?
Have you thought about including images?

Remember that each episode of the podcast should be a blog post so that it has a permalink — the show notes would be part of the blog post.
Interesting p-cast.
There was mention of additional episodes to follow. When are you planning on releasing those?
Thanks.
Yes – I will be getting to them this summer/fall. Stay tuned!
